GLENSIDE, Pa.. – Arcadia University women's soccer senior midfielder Jackie Glanfield has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Scholar All-America Third-Team, as announced by the organization Friday. She is the Knights' first-ever NSCAA Scholar All-America selection.

"Obviously I'm very happy and very excited," said Glanfield.  "I think getting a scholar award is the highest honor I can achieve at Arcadia. To get All-America recognition, and being the first one, is a great accomplishment I'll have the rest of my life."

Glanfield, who was named a NSCAA Scholar All-East Region Second-Team selection for the second straight year, is a biology major on the pre-physician assistant track with a 3.66 grade-point-average. Her seven goals and four assists for 18 points helped the Knights to a 17-4-0 record in 2016, a berth into the MAC Commonwealth Championship Final and the team's first NCAA Division III Championship Tournament appearance since 2005.

"Jackie deserves so much credit," said women's soccer head coach Rick Brownell. "The biggest reason she transferred to Arcadia was the academic standards, especially in the Physician's Assistant program. Jackie is a stellar academic student, and this is an impressive award for her."

The Garnet Valley, Pa., native was additionally named to the 2016 College Sports Information Directors of America® (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team, the third player in program history to receive the honor. Her academic and athletic accomplishments were also recognized when she was named to the Philadelphia Inquirer/Philly Sports Information Directors Association Academic All-Area Team in December. Glanfield was also selected to the First-Team of both the All-MAC Commonwealth team and National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Region Team this season.
